Prati Gurutua Yoga (Anti gravity Yoga)
Yoga is a practice of awareness of body mind and spirit. Despite years of evolution of the technique, this is the basis for the form and the one constant in all yoga disciplines.
Antigravity yoga is far from traditional forms of yoga, it is a fusion technique. However it does allow this same formula by considering the person as a whole (Body, Mind and Spirit).
Antigravity yoga accommodates all levels of fitness and denotes fighting against the ageing effects of gravity. As the body ages, the joints need to be pushed to maintain mobility. The muscles need to be worked to maintain proper alignment and the discs of the spine need to be hydrated to minimise dehydration. If we don’t use it, we risk losing it!
With the use of props, postures are held for longer periods of time to initiate deep relaxation. This practice will balance a more active practice or decompress after a stressful day.
